It comes at an interesting time especially when United have their focus on bigger fish including the league and success in Europe. United manager Alex Ferguson has indicated that he may rest Wayne Rooney and is without Rio Ferdinand (back injury), Ryan Giggs (broken arm), or Brazilian midfielder Anderson (leg).
