Saturday sports betting punts!

It is shaping up to be a thrilling sporting weekend with the big Manchester Derby taking the spotlight. I’m not so sure that City are going to be able to deliver at Old Trafford but I’m also not that keen to put some money down on it so I’ve gone with a couple of picks which I believe are relatively low risk bankers.

I’ve boxed together the following Accumulator which I’m pretty confident on:

  • Arsenal to beat Wolves (English Premiership)
  • Liverpool to beat Wigan (English Premiership)
  • AC Milan to beat Parma (Serie A)
  • South Africa to beat Zimbabwe (World Cup cricket warm-up)
  • New Zealand to beat Ireland (World Cup cricket warm-up)
  • Bangladesh to beat Canada (World Cup cricket warm-up)

No real shock choices there but not sure I want to be gambling too much of my capital on tight fixtures.

If you like these punts and don’t have a sports betting account then get signed up for one at Sportingbet or Voltbet.com now and get punting!

Sunday punts

Well Wolves really cocked up my betting plans for Saturday when they beat Manchester United yesterday. I mean come on – How can United drop points against Wolves….?!

Anyway gotta get back onto the horse and see what we can conjure up this weekend.

My first pick is a Trixie with the following selections:

- Aberdeen to beat Dunfermline
- Chelsea to beat Liverpool
- Rangers to beat Celtic

My second pick is a Yankee:
- Orlando Pirates to beat Black Aces
- Chelsea to beat Liverpool
- Sundowns to beat Santos
- Green Bay Packers to win the Superbowl

If you want to take either of these bets you can sign up at Voltbet.com or with Sportingbet

Happy punting!

The gambler who doesn’t lose

Are you one of those punters who has an idea they can make money consistently and yet when push comes to shove you find yourself going nowhere slowly.

Check out this interview with legendary gambler Billy Walters where he discusses a career which has not seen him have a single losing year.

Sunday punts

Hhhhmmm well Leeds didn’t do me any favours yesterday by drawing with Arsenal and then Middlesbrough managed to disappoint. Oh well win some lose some.

Today the really big game will be the match up between Manchester United and Liverpool. I’m not buying that Dalglish will provide the turnaround even though it offers a ray of light to the Liverpool fans. My calls are pretty straight-forward this Sunday:

United to beat Liverpool
Chelsea to beat Ipswich
Manchester City to beat Leicester (although this one makes me nervous)
Spurs to beat Charlton

and then for good measure South Africa to beat India in the first T20 cricket fixture.

Don’t forget – if you haven’t opened an sports betting account you can open one at  Sportingbet or Voltbet.com and be betting from as little as R5 a punt!.

Happy punting.

FA Cup picks – Saturday

It is FA Cup weekened again and there is no shortage of excitement around the big Manchester United versus Liverpool game tomorrow. Personal opinion is Liverpool will get drilled but who knows, maybe they pull a rabbit out of the hat.

For today I’ve made the following picks:

Blackburn to beat QPR
Fulham to beat Peterborough
Everton to beat Scunthorpe
Arsenal to beat Leeds (no repeat of 2010 heroics methinks)
Aston Villa to be Sheffield United (although they sure as hell better than they played against Sunderland!)

Will post my Sunday picks later in the day.

Tonights soccer punts

Inter Milan are in action tonight with Leonardo taking charge in a tricky fixture against Napoli.

Three bets which appeal to me tonight and I have taken them in a trixie combination:

Inter Milan to beat Napoli
Espanyol to beat Atletico Madrid
Real Madrid to beat Levante

I have also doubled up with individual outright bets on Inter and Real Madrid.

Yankee punt on the English Premiership

Some big games tonight in the English Premiership and all eyes are going to be on the Arsenal versus Manchester City fixture.

In all honesty I have no idea how to call this fixture so I am steering clear of taking a punt on it.

I have split my bets over a Yankee combination of the following results:

Blackburn to beat Liverpool
Aston Villa to beat Sunderland
Newcastle to beat West Ham
Chelsea to beat Wolves

Was tempted to include Spurs to beat Everton but chickened out with Everton having home ground advantage…

R1500 risk free first bet

Sports betting is growing in popularity in South Africa with a number of new players coming into the market. One of the big challenges we have noted is that many would-be punters are reluctant to make that first step and actually open an account and make their first bet.

The team from Sportingbet have an interesting promotion on the go at the moment. If you open an account with them and make a losing first bet, they will refund you up to R1500 of your first bet. That’s not a bad deal, especially if you can land a really good call at your first attempt.

You can punt from as little as R8 a bet and the interface is very user friendly.

3rd Test predictions

Well after an absolutely fascinating series of test cricket between South Africa and India we come down to third and final test at Newlands to decide us a winner. The Indian team really came back hard in the Kingsmead test and that will have given them a lot of confidence coming into this third test, especially with Singh having demolished our tail in the first innings.

I’m still comfortable with my bet that South Africa will win the series but I expect India to make a real game of it. They’re certainly not going to be any kind of pushover.

The match odds are in favour of the home side with Voltbet offering 13/10 and India at 10/3 while Sportingbet have priced it closer at 11/8 for both sides.

Our picks for the best batters in the first innings are as below:

SA
Jacques Kallis – 7/2
Graeme Smith – 15/4

India
VVS Laxman – 6/1

(Batter odds supplied by Sportingbet)

C’mon SA!

Big cricket action coming!

The Ashes (4th test)

I would give my left nut to be at the MCG tomorrow when 90000 people turn out to support either the Aussies or the Poms with the Ashes sitting at 1-1. Therehas been a bit of verbal, there has been a bit of controversy and there are a few injury concerns going around at the moment.

Taking a look at the betting:

On the outright win:
SportingBet are offering Australia at 7/5 while England are at 2/1

Voltbet are offering Australia at 10/7 while England are on offer at 15/8. 9/4 for the Draw.

Personally I just think home ground advantage and a fired up team is likely to play in favour of the Australians. I’ve also backed Michael Hussey (4/1) andMichael Clarke (9/2) as the top run scorers for the Aussies in the first innings and knowing how Kevin Pietersen thrives on pressure games I’ve backed him asthe top English run scorer (4/1).

It is going to be an absolute thriller!

South Africa versus India

India really need to do something to get onto the score sheet and if there was a venue where they’d fancy themselves it would be Kingsmead. Personal feelingthough is that the home side just packs too much firepower at the moment. The Indians showed a bit of heart in the second innings at Centurion but I can’t say the instilled any fear in our bowlers.

Sportingbet is offering evens on South Africa to win the test match while offering India at 9/2. 6/4 on the draw
Voltbet is offering 11/10 on South Africa and 9/2 on India

I’ve also backed Hashim Amla as the top run scorer at 9/2

Should make for a cracking couple of days of cricket!
